Parks and gardens

 The Mercantour National Park
The last link in the Southern Alps before they plunge into the Mediterranean, the biodiversity of the Mercantour national park makes it one of France’s richest natural spaces.
Almost 600 km of marked paths give you a chance to discover rich and varied fauna (chamois, marmots, not to forget wolves!), and a huge diversity of flora (almost half of the 4,200 species listed in France).
Also not to be missed are the 30,000 cave paintings in the Vallée des Merveilles, listed as historic monument.

The Prealpes d'Azur Regional Natural Park
The 48th regional natural park in France starts in the Préalpes d’Azur, in the first mountainous foothills of the western Alpes-Maritimes, between Côte d’Azur and high mountain.
Its biodiversity is remarkable, with its vegetation alone numbering over 2,000 species, or 2/3 of French flora. The diversity of its landscapes is also prodigious, ranging between limestone plateaus, gorges, clues, terraced landscapes and high mountain villages overlooking the valleys.
