Dancers, actors, comics, storytellers, puppeteers, magicians, singers and musicians all spice up the summer in the Alpes-Maritimes. In all, 450 free performances are organised in the context of the General Council’s "Soirées Estivales" from June to September.

This festive wave covers the entire département from the highest alpine valleys to the coast and hinterland. The trend is for eclecticism, with artists from all horizons: music hall, jazz and classical.

For theatre, humour is highlighted with Elisabeth Piron, Yolande Nectoux, Richard Cairaschi and Xavier Borriglione. Local artists, humour and satire are also well represented. The region’s musical tradition is present, too, with such local groups as Le Corou de Berra, Lei Troubaïre trio and the Nice Jazz Orchestra.

These "Soirées" also attract artists from Brazil (Esperança Trio), Africa (Dyka Nakan), the Caribbean (Exotica Danse) and a wide range of musical horizons. While Pulse pays tribute to Pink Floyd like the Beatlovs to the Beatles, the Baroque Ensemble of Nice, the Regional Orchestra of Cannes PACA and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Nice explore the classical vein. In this avalanche of festivities, children have their place with many puppeteers and storytelling (Festival du Conte).
