A passion for golf, a leisure playground…
from 1st to 19th hole

It’s a well known fact that on reaching the 18th hole, all golfers, seasoned or beginners, look forward to a warm welcome in the club house. Tales of the day’s exploits abound over a refreshing drink or a tasty meal, usually on a generously shaded terrace. But golfers are demanding. They need authenticity, diversity, varied play and above all charming surroundings and a pleasant climate… Fortunately our region ticks all the boxes.

 A passion for golf

A dream destination for the European golfer
Over the years the French Riviera has earned a reputation among the golfing community as a paradise destination where the pleasure of the game can be enjoyed to the full on its eight prestigious 18-hole courses designed by internationally renowned architects.
Each golf course has its own trademark feature so players can enjoy an exciting game on a new one every day. Under the pines of Golf Cannes-Mandelieu by the sea players can relish the technical design of the flat, well drained course with a mild sea breeze. In summer they can enjoy the freshness of the hinterland further inland with its technical, varied play. Some also offer 9-hole courses especially designed for less experienced players. Valbonne golf course and its charming hotel is a particular favourite of devotees of "everything golf". Gourmets simply love the cuisine of Christophe Leroy, famous St Tropez chef who presides at the exclusive Golf-Club du Royal-Mougins. To refine his offer the latter has also invested in an upmarket hotel and spa.
The welcoming climate provides every opportunity to devote oneself to one’s love of the small ball in the best conditions. Golfers are simply spoilt for choice!

French Riviera golfing gets the thumbs up from a true Epicurean
Jean-Pierre Vigato is a renowned Michelin chef (2 stars) who revels in welcoming his gourmet-loving clientele to in his superb town mansion on the rue d’Artois in Paris’ 8th district. He likes nothing better than to recharge his batteries with his two passions, golf and hunting. Unequivocally, he confides that he has a penchant for the French Riviera where he can combine the pleasure of playing and great conviviality.
CRT: "For many years you have opted for Nice as your main golfing destination. What are your reasons?"
J-P Vigato: "For me the French Riviera is a destination blessed by the gods. I know that I can come here and recharge my batteries at any time of the year, the light and sunshine will always be here.
Also, it is one of the rare places where I can play on courses in a variety of different settings, which means that I can play by the sea one day and among the one hundred year old oaks and olive trees of the hinterland the next. An endless source of pleasure. I generally come with a group of friends and its diverse range of golf courses means that there is something for all players or all levels. I admit that I have a penchant for locations that are a little more confidential and Cannes-Mougins with its neatly trimmed fairways is a firm favourite of mine. In addition to the golfer’s set menu, it gives me great delight to sample a range of gastronomical pleasures, a perfect end to a perfect day."… Pure bliss!
