Some folk round here live with their heads in the stars. The French Riviera possesses the 2nd most impressive observatory in France - behind that in Paris. It comprises the observatory in Nice and that in Calem and enjoys an international reputation.

The Cassini Itinerary

Born in the County of Nice, Giovanni Domenico Cassini was a famous astronomer in the 17th century. His descendants were also key figures in the history of astronomy. The Cassini itinerary takes you from Perinaldo (Italy) to Paris in the footsteps of five generations of scientists who marked 150 years of the history of science.
