Verdi’s Falstaff – Opera of Monaco

Falstaff, commedia lirica in three acts by Giuseppe Verdi, is one of the absolute masterpieces of opera. It inspires the passionate admiration of opera lovers. Libretto by Arrigo Boito based on the Merry Wives of Windsor and Henri IV by William Shakespeare.
Ideal venue for Verdi’s Falstaff, the Salle Garnier is a veritable “opera salon” inaugurated by Bryn Terfel in the role of Pancione. The performance is doubly anticipated as this new production, realised as a co-production involving Metz and the Operas of Tenerife and Greece will be produced by Jean-Louis Grinda. Conductor: Gianluigi Gelmetti, who triumphed this winter with an excellent Wagnerian ship.
