Zineb Sedira’s works, whether they take from video, photography, installations or text, are strongly marked by the search for identity of all individuals confronted with different cultures.
A Frenchwoman of Algerian origin, Zineb Sedira has been living for over twenty years in the UK, where she has built her work on the theme of travel. The issues she addresses – communication, the body, space, the sea, exile and their cortege of taboos and obligations - speak of what she herself has experienced or encountered in her existence but remain basic themes that many artists have treated in the history of art, past and present.
